Burguesa Burger Franchising Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some frequently asked questions about Burguesa Burger franchising. If you have other questions as you move through our process, including information required by the Federal Trade Commission and applicable state laws, feel free to contact us at 214-747-9424.
Q: How do I get started?
A: The first step is to return the completed franchise application and personal financial statement forms you’ll find on our website. This does not obligate you to Burguesa Burger in any way. These forms simply are used to determine mutual compatibility. Upon receipt and review, we will contact you and arrange for you to receive our franchise disclosure document (FDD) for review. This document contains all of the information required by the Federal Trade Commission and the particular state in which your Burguesa Burger restaurant will be located. A copy of our franchise agreement is contained in this document. The FDD will enable you to diligently investigate our franchise opportunity.
Q: What types of opportunities are available?
A: Individual and multi-unit franchise opportunities are available.
Q: How much are your franchise fees?
A: The franchise fee is currently $20,000 for the first location and $10,000 for each additional location under the same franchise agreement.
Q: What is the term of my franchise agreement?
A: We are prepared to commit to a long-term relationship with you. A 10-year franchise agreement is awarded to qualified franchisees.
Q: Is there a continuing royalty?
A: Yes. The current royalty is 6% of gross receipts, excluding sales tax.
Q: Is there a marketing fee?
A: Yes, there are two. One is for national marketing, known as the brand development fund (BDF), and one is for local marketing. Currently the BDF is 2% of gross sales, excluding sales taxes, the use of which is solely determined by Burguesa Burger Franchise, Inc. There is also a local marketing fee that is currently 2% of gross sales, excluding sales taxes, the use of which is determined by the individual franchisee under the guidelines set forth in the franchise agreement. Burguesa Burger Franchise, Inc. encourages franchisees to work together in local advertising cooperatives. These cooperatives seek to achieve a consensus to determine the appropriate use of their local marketing funds. Burguesa Burger retains the exclusive decision-making power over the use of these funds, but the application of them will always be for advertising and marketing purposes.
Q: Does Burguesa Burger offer financing?
A: Burguesa Burger Franchise, Inc. will recommend SBA and other lending programs, as well as leasing options with third-party sources, to qualified franchisees. However, we do not offer direct financing. Qualified prospective individuals, as Burguesa Burger franchisees, may be able to obtain a loan from a third-party institution. The loan amount may vary in respect to the applicant’s credit history, the liquid assets value of the applicant, as well as the cash amount used by the qualified prospective franchisee as its direct contribution to the total investment in the franchise. Equipment leasing is an alternative to reduce the total funds needed, but it may be more costly than a loan.
Q: Will I receive assistance in finding a location for my Burguesa Burger restaurant?
A: Yes. While it is each franchisee’s contractual responsibility to find a suitable location, a Burguesa Burger representative will assist you in this process. Your representative will collectively review all available options and either accept or decline locations based on our criteria.
Q: How long does it take to open a Burguesa Burger restaurant?
A: Due to the number of variables, we hesitate to give a specific timeline. Usually a restaurant opening may be completed within 60 days from the time a site is leased, but it may take longer.
Q: Do I receive training by Burguesa Burger?
A: Yes, our current training program comprises one week of classroom training at Academia Burguesa combined with hands-on experience at a Burguesa Burger restaurant in Dallas. This covers all facets of operating a Burguesa Burger restaurant. A Burguesa Burger representative will also assist you at the opening of your first restaurant.
Q: Is Burguesa Burger equipped for the future?
A: Burguesa Burger works continuously to improve our concept and your business in order to adapt to the ever-changing world of the QSR segment. We seek to take advantage of new technology, refine existing systems, and react to new market opportunities as they arise. Burguesa Burger is an organization of dedicated professionals committed to making your business a success.
